Cherry Blossoms

It’s cherry blossom time in the DC area! It’s been quite cold in the area and the peak bloom (which is usually short-lasting) was only in blossom for a few days. We took advantage of the short window and explored some areas where we saw the beautiful trees filled with pretty pink flowers. Sage was ready to get a bath so she went to the groomers to get freshened up before heading out to see the blossoms. When she came out she was super soft and fluffy and had a special spring cherry blossom kerchief just for the season. When we went to go look at the flowers the pup was just amazed. She just kept staring up at the pink and white flowers that had such an artistic contrast to the dark bark on the tree trunks and branches. We learned that the cherry blossom trees are common to the area after the original plants were presented as a gift to the nation by Japan. Next year we plan to brave the crowds and visit the cherry blossom festival downtown DC. Sage was such a good girl we went to the dog bar after and she played while mom enjoyed some Cherry Blossom cider in honor of the season.
